Voluntary work

Voluntary work not only makes a difference to other people’s lives, it’s also a great opportunity for you to develop your skills, meet new people and make new friends.

Voluntary work is a great way to:

  • try out something new
  • build up your confidence in working with others
  • have fun
  • make new friends
  • find out if you like a particular job
  • get new skills and experience to improve your employability
  • make your CV or application form stand out from the crowd
  • show a prospective employer that you’re dedicated to a certain career.

Remember, you can do as much or as little voluntary work as suits you. You might like to do a few hours combined with your work or studies, a short term project at holiday time, or a full-time working holiday or gap year project. You can decide what's best for you.

Interested? Then why not find out more about volunteering and what you can do?
