What if I'm not ready for e2e?

If you don't think you're ready for a full e2e course - or your personal situation means you can't commit to it straight away - then you could benefit from a pre-e2e course. (Pre- Entry to Employment course.)

A pre-e2e course can help you with your life skills, your work skills and your social skills. By the end of it you'll feel more confident and more motivated and you should be ready to move onto the full e2e course, or another option that's suitable for you.

Activities include:

  • work experience
  • practical and independent living skills
  • job search workshops
  • team building exercises
  • basic reading, writing, number and ICT work - leading to Entry Level or Level 1 qualifications
  • Plus perhaps, leisure and personal development activities.

Will I get paid?

Everyone who does a pre- e2e course gets an EMA allowance of £30 a week. You may also get bonus payments for achieving targets and help with travel costs while you’re on your pre-e2e course.

Who can apply?

If you’re 16 -19 and you’ve left school but don’t have a job, you can apply for a pre-e2e course. Some pre-e2e courses are for 16 - 25 year olds.

What do I do next?

If a pre-e2e course sounds good to you, then drop into your local Connexions Centre - or phone or email - to find out more.
