William Salt Library, Stafford
William Salt's original collection forms the basis of the Library's holdings. These comprise books, pamphlets, newspapers, manuscripts, watercolours, prints and photographs relating to the history of Staffordshire. Salt also collected items relating to religion and politics.

Discovery
The National Archives 'Discovery' brings together catalogues from many archives across England and Wales. You may have known this formerly as the Access to Archives website. This searchable online catalogue includes descriptions of some collections we hold that do not yet appear on Gateway to the Past. It is also useful for searching collections held by other archives.

Staffordshire Pasttrack brings together images of museum objects, photographs, artworks, prints and engravings, from both the Archives and Heritage Service, and generous private owners , who have made their photographs available.

Staffordshire Name Indexes
The Staffordshire Name Indexes website brings together archive indexes created by volunteer groups at Staffordshire Record Office and Stoke on Trent City Archives, and the former Lichfield Record Office, as well as indexes generously donated by a number of researchers

Findmypast
The Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Archive Service works with our commercial partner, Findmypast, to make images of the most heavily-used genealogical sources available online - parish registers, wills and probate, and marriage bonds.
